Am I eligible for grants to insulate and heat my home?

There are various avenues of funding mechanisms for people to access grants to gain help and support to insulate and heat their homes, one of the main avenues is the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). This is a government scheme that was set up to help alleviate fuel poverty it is enforced on the energy companies to provide assistance to help people heat and insulate their homes whilst working towards our countries obligation of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. What people don’t know, is that we all contribute towards this scheme in our energy bills, a percentage of each and every one of our energy bills goes towards the governments climate levy charge (check the small print in your energy bill)  so we are all paying towards this scheme and have a right to access it. We can help you access it.

Do you offer finance?

Net Carbon Solutions do not offer finance direct, but we do have install partners that can offer competitive finance packages for your energy efficiency projects in some cases these are interest free finance. We can also help and advice with loans that are available through the Energy Saving Trust where people can get interest free loans for their home energy projects.

How long does a survey take?

Depending on the survey required our survey will take between 30-45 minutes and up to 2 hours

A legionella assessment can be completed in 30 minutes.

A basic EPC can be completed in the home within 45 minutes depending on the property type and size.

A full energy, ventilation and condition survey can take up to 2 hours.

However our team will let you know on the booking of your survey appointment the duration of the survey so that you can accommodate a date and time that suits you and your family.

I do not receive any benefits?

As the ECO scheme is a means tested qualification process most people don’t believe they qualify for it. However with the new phase of the energy company obligation scheme ECO4 which started on the 1st July 2022 and is set to run for the next 4 years. 50% of the overall obligation can be accessed through LA Flex (local authority flexible eligibility scheme) your local authority who have their own obligations and qualification criteria which does not require qualifying benefits. Local authorities have a qualifying criteria that is mainly based on the property and people living in the property to determine whether people may be living in FP (fuel poverty) or LIVC (low income and vulnerable to cold) with fuel prices on the rise it is estimated that 4.5 million homes are now defined as living in fuel poverty and this is set to rise again, so the chances are we can help you access funding through your local authority.
