Internal wall benefits

Installing a PIR board on all external facing walls of the property will retain the heat in and around your home, this is required to be installed on all solid wall properties including timber framed, if you are thinking about a renewable heat source. We also have an innovation product that is less disruptive and will retain original features like covings if the property is suitable, contact us for more information.

01

Prevent heat loss

According to the Energy Saving Trust (EST), around one-third of heat loss from most homes is through the walls. The best way to save on your energy bills is to retain the heat you are generating through your heat source which in turn will reduce the amount of time your heat source it running there for creating a reduction in your bills. This is why it is best to insulate the largest surface area that is exposed to the elements. SO we have no doubt that internal wall insulation will have a huge benefit for all solid/timber framed properties.

02

What you should expect

With internal wall insulation all external walls will need to have a pir insulated board installed, this includes kitchen and bathroom areas, meaning that if you have cupboards, toilets or sinks against a heat loss wall they might need to be removed so that the board can be fitted to the wall and then fitted back on. This is depending on the percentage of the wall area that can be installed and if there is any technical reason for not installing for example having to move gas pipes or soil pipes. The board is 100mm thick so will reduce the room which could also be a reason that the board can not be fitted if the room size reduces below the living standard.

03

After install

After the install the walls will finished with plaster so the walls will need decorated but all fixtures and fitting will be put back on the wall. You will receive a 25 year warranty for the product and a 2 year workmanship warranty for the install if this is completed through ECO funding. There is a nother innovation product that can be installed that would not reduce the size of the room please get in touch if this is something you would like to find out mor about.
